Another bout of pictures... it may turn into more than only 5 posts!
Grant's Gazelle (Gazella granti) is a bit bigger than the Thomson's and without the black stripe along the flankHippos (Hippapotamus amphibius) looking out from the water around lunchtime!
Big mouth!
Augur Buzzard (Buteo augur)
Another picture of the Augur... seemed to have a red tail like our American Red-tailed Hawks (Buteo jamaicensis)
CHEETAH (Acinonyx jubatus) ! This was the coolest part of the safari for me... capturing it with dad's camera and then watching it stealthily sneak off in the late afternoon...
Here's looking back at you!
Mom and her pups... these hyaenas were eating a carcass of some sort and then a jackal was trying to get its fair share too.. but the eight kids chased it off and it skulked away
Slightly blurry picture of said Black-backed Jackal (Canis mesomelas)
Looking back down at the crater after a long first day there!
On the floor of the crater before we ascended to the rim and towards our accommodations for the night
